New Releases from Four Points Brewing

Four Points Introduces Brand New, Year-Round IPA, as well as New Single Hop DIPA

Hop heads, rejoice! Two awesome new brews from Four Points Brewing in Charleroi, PA have just hit the market, and both are receiving rave reviews online! First, let’s learn a little bit about each brew:

  • Overbranded Citra is a new entry in Four Points’ single hop DIPA series. Standing at 8.0% ABV, this brew is thick, balanced and aromatic with notes of citrus, tropical fruits, lychee and grapefruit. At time of writing, this brew is rated 4.45/5 on Untappd.

  • 400 IPA is a brand-new brew that is, according to Four Points’ head brewer, intended to be a new flagship, splitting time with their Fourth Street IPA. This brew is 7.0% ABV and features Vic Secret and Lotus hops. It’s balanced and aromatic with notes of Passionfruit, Pineapple, and Orange Creamsicle. At time of writing, this one clocks in at 4.31/5 on Untappd.

So we’ve seen what the brewery has to say about these new brews, but what do we here at Creekside think? Let’s start with 400:

  • Look: This brew pours a gorgeous orange color and has a thick head.

  • Smell: Aromas of tropical fruit hit my nose right away and lingered for a bit.

  • Taste: Upon taking my first sip, I was struck by how flowery and delicious it was! Pineapple and passionfruit were present, but I didn’t get any orange creamsicle out of it. There was minimal bitterness; this beer was as smooth as they come.

  • Thoughts: My immediate thought was “no wonder they’re going to make this one a year-round release!” Before I knew it, my glass was empty, and I was wishing I’d bought more!

Tyler's Rating: 4.5/5

Now onto Overbranded Citra:

  • Look: Thick, dark, and hazy would be the words that come to mind when looking at this DIPA in a glass.

  • Smell: Grapefruit is the predominant aroma I got out of Overbranded. Tropical fruits were present as well.

  • Taste: An absolute juice bomb! This brew is super full-bodied and thick, almost to the point of being chewy. No booziness at all despite being a double.

  • Thoughts: I almost called 400 my new favorite Four Points beer…until I tried Overbranded Citra. This is an incredible New England that deserves all the hype it’s getting on social media.

Tyler's Rating: 4.5/5
